Workshop: Brains Of The Buyer 201
June 6, 2017
6 – 8pm
During this workshop, Alli Ball will discuss the ins and outs of wholesale buying, and all the questions that a retail buyer needs to answer as they consider your product line for their store. You’ll walk away from this course with a better understanding of:
- the specific steps you need to take to prepare your brand for retail;
- how to negotiate with a buyer, why they might say “yes” or “no” and how to sway them in a more favorable direction;
- best practices, specific examples and your critical next steps for the retail world.
Did you attend Alli’s recent Skill Nibble on the Brains of the Buyer? This workshop is the next step for understanding the thought process of a retail buyer as they consider your product for the retail shelf. It’s open to anyone who’s interested in the Retail Buyer’s product selection process.
Allison Ball is the founder of Allison Ball Consulting, specializing in operations and growth strategy for food businesses. She works both with specialty retail spaces on product assortment, merchandising & staff development, and with producers of packaged goods who are trying to launch or grow their product line. She is fortunate to see both sides of wholesale, and can provide insight on both the retail buying side and the challenges from the producer side.
Prior to launching Allison Ball Consulting three years ago, Allison was essential in the growth the Bi-Rite Family of Businesses. She began with sourcing product and developing grocery staff for years at Bi-Rite Market on 18th Street, and advanced to the position of Head of Grocery and Store Manager at Bi-Rite Divisadero, building and managing a team and operations to support over half of the products in the store.
