Geek Out at ERF: Burger (Sat)
Searching for burger nirvana? Join us at Eat Real Fest for this Geek Out event teaser – your definitive guide to different beef grinds for the perfect burger. Founder of Food Craft Institute and CEO of Belcampo, Anya Fernald, will be leading an informative one hour sensory session focusing on choosing and preparing burger grinds.
We’ll Geek Out on:
- selecting different cuts of beef for your burger grind
- how different grinds impact the flavor and texture
- methods for grinding and cooking the perfect burger
- tasting four different burger grind sliders to hone in on your favorite: Brisket & Short-Rib Blend, Carnivore Grind, a Prime Cut and Century Cut
Anya will share her expert tips and tricks on burger grind selection and preparation. Over a glass of local beer paired by Master Cicerone Nicole Erny, we’ll do a side-by-side tasting of the various grinds so you’ll be able to decide on your new family favorite.
You’ll walk away empowered with knowledge about sourcing burger grinds, a better understanding of beef cuts, plenty of burger cooking tips and a full belly.
All proceeds from Geek Out events will support FCI’s educational scholarships for low-income food makers. Since 2011 FCI has helped over 100 small food businesses launch or grow, with over 65% of students being women or minorities and 50% receiving financial aid.
