In pioneering the localization of economies and money flows, Arno Hesse co-founded Credibles, a community-funding service for food businesses, the social venture Clearbon, and the local rewards currency Bernal Bucks in San Francisco. A founding member for Slow Money, Arno is a coordinator of its Northern California region and invests in local ventures in the San Francisco Bay Area food system. Arno has more than 25 years experience in executing market strategies for technology and finance companies. As Executive Vice President at Union Bank, he led Product Management, Customer Experience Management, and Marketing, drawing on his specialty of changing organizational cultures, as culture tends to eat strategy for breakfast. He is proud of his leadership successes in national and international volunteer organizations. Arno holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. He grew up in Europe and is easily distracted by typography and new ice cream flavors.
