David Salowich began his career as a pastry chef and landed at Scharffenberger’s in 2003, evangelizing for America’s first artisanal bean-to-bar chocolate maker. David was a Chocolate Pavilion lead at 2009’s Slow Food Nation project in San Francisco, the event which spawned the trade organization: The Craft Chocolate Makers of America. He has been Chocolate Chairman for the national Good Food Awards since its inception in 2010.
Today, David directs the chocolate and retail program at Bittersweet Café. He also works as a chocolate evangelist, giving lectures, guided tastings and chocolate-themed events at Double Monkey Chocolate.
